Turkey blocks Wikipedia? - NOT amateur radio

See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-39754909 .

This online encyclopaedia is one of the most famous in the world. Access to it is a sign of a nation being at one with itself and one that trusts its citizens. Countries that ban access to it usually have something to hide.

QRP on Wikipedia

This link has been posted before but it is worth repeating. This is the Wikipedia link all about QRP.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QRP_operation .

I am a firm believer in QRP. Simple gear can span the globe, although rising noise floors are making it tougher for some, especially in cities and towns. In theory, 5W is just a few S-points down on a 100W rig, but these days the limit is more likely to be man-made noise sources at the receiver especially on LF, MF and the lower HF bands. Up to now, I have been blessed with a low RX noise floor here. I am still lucky.

Wikipedia

en.wikipedia.org/
Don't know about you, but I refer to Wikipedia just about every single day. It isn't perfect, but it certainly is one of the most useful free resources on the Internet. The quality and quantity of data available there is nothing short of remarkable. I've added a few entries myself over the years too. As a thank you I made a small donation via Paypal and encourage you to do the same if you can spare a little.

As they say in their thank you email, the resource is used by people from all over the world including in schools in developing countries. By ensuring Wikipedia remains free and neutral we are helping to keep the Internet free for future generations.

Amateur Radio Wiki

Not sure how I'd managed to miss this amateur radio wiki site before, but it looks worthwhile bookmarking.  Being a wiki, it allows users to add or modify content in a similar way to Wikipedia. It has some useful links and data.
